The list keeps growing.
Now star young midfielder for Germany Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund is out of the world cup after suffering an ankle injury in a 6-1 win over Armenia in a friendly.
He has been a valuable part of Germany’s offensive attack and is undoubtedly one of the top ten players in the world.
Fortunately for him he will get a chance in another four years to play in a world cup and also in the euro cup. We can’t say the same for Radamel Falcao or Franck Ribery of France. Falcao and Ribery were also a huge chunk of both of their countries rosters. Reus is vital but Germany will still be a top three favourite. The same cannot be said for France or Colombia now.
This has to be the most injury riddled world cup in terms of stars getting injured that I’ve seen in a while. Of course I probably said the same in 2010.
